Checking Accounts

Open The Door To Many Other Benefits While Saving Money!

KUE FCU offers an attractive checking program to its members. There is no catch. You get your account FREE, you do not have to maintain a minimum balance and you can write as many checks as you like for FREE. You get the added benefit of FREE debit cards, with the ability to withdraw from FREE ATMs, within the Alliance One Network. As an added bonus, the credit union will give you 100 free checks.

Funds Availability Policy

The policy at KUE FCU is to make funds from deposits available to members on the first business day the credit union receives the deposit. At that time, members can withdraw cash and the credit union will use the funds to pay checks the member has written.

For determining the availability of deposits, every day is a business day, except Saturdays, Sundays, federal holidays (excluding MLK Day and Presidents’ Day), the day after Thanksgiving, Good Friday, and Christmas Eve. If a member makes a deposit before 5:00 on a business day that the credit union is open, that day is considered to be the date of your deposit. However, if a member makes a deposit after 5:00 or on a day the credit union is not opened, the credit union will consider that deposit to be made on the next business day the credit union is open.

VISA Debit Card

Use this secure Chip Card to make purchases anywhere VISA Debit Cards are accepted and to get cash at ATM’s nationwide. The funds are automatically deducted from your Checking Account. It’s a good way to pay for gas, groceries, and any other daily need. Daily limits for ATM withdrawals ($250.00) and Point-of-Sale purchases ($500.00) are in place for security reasons, and can be temporarily increased if requested. The Debit Card can only be used within the United States. If you would like to request a temporary increase or need assistance with accessing your funds, contact the Credit Union. If you have an open and active checking account and would like a Debit Card, please let us know.

Longer Delays May Apply

Funds deposited by check may be delayed for a longer period under the following circumstances:

- The Credit Union believes a check a member deposited will not be paid.
- A member deposits checks totaling more than $5,000 on any one day.
- A member re-deposits a check that has been returned unpaid.
- A member has overdrawn their account repeatedly in the last three months.
- There is an emergency, such as failure of communications or computer equipment.
- The Credit Union will notify a member if their ability to withdraw funds for any of these reasons, and the Credit Union will tell the member when the funds will be available. The Credit Union generally will make funds available no later than the fifth business day after the day of your deposit.

If you are interested in opening a checking account, please contact the credit union office.
